Our passion is to provide learning experiences where people of all ages may encounter God and be equipped to live consistently in the power of the Holy Spirit. Sessions are designed with the belief that the Holy Spirit is fully present and active in people of all ages equipping them with everything they need for life and for Godliness (2 peter 1:3-4).
For preschool and elementary children, Aldersgate 2015 is an opportunity to experience God in fun and meaningful ways. Children participate in Spirit-filled worship and Bible-based learning experiences designed to allow them to meet Jesus and experience the power of the Holy Spirit… either for the first time or in new ways. Through the Aldersgate 2015 Conference, children have the opportunity to grow as young disciples and ministers of the gospel.
Children’s ministry is offered for the following age groups:
- Elementary: completed kindergarten through rising 6th graders
- Preschool: 2 years to 5 years
- Nursery: 6 months to 24 months (we can accommodate younger than 6 months, if we know in advance)
Jocelyn Everson, Director of the Gate Kids Ministry
The littlest ones are so very special to God. At Aldersgate, nursery children will experience ministry through the care of professional staff in a safe and secure environment. Children will love the bright and inviting atmosphere of the Aldersgate Conference and will be talking about their experience for years to come! Children’s sessions begin 30 minutes before and end 15 minutes after the adult worship celebrations.
ARM is committed to the safety and security of all minors (under age 18) attending Gate Kids at Aldersgate 2015, and all our workers are screened. Once registered, parents of Gate Kids attendees will receive a letter and forms (also in PDF below) to read, fill out, and bring to the Conference. Click here to download the PDF forms
The Gate Conference is a three day conference to challenge youth in worship, discipleship and prayer. Gate Conference is a youth ministry of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries. In July we will gather in Lexington, Kentucky to learn what it means to be Relentless Love – and it is our prayer, as we prepare for this conference, that God will begin to strip us of everything that covers Him up in our lives. We pray that we might be a generation of young people who boldly declare the glory, freedom and redemption of God to a world that is getting over-saturated with world views, beliefs, and opinions of people who for too long have been speaking louder than we have.
It is important to us that everyone who comes to The Gate is connected with other people. Every youth will be placed in a small group with whom we will meet at least once a day for various activities. Gate staff members will serve as small group leaders. Our goal is to know every youth by name! Since the small groups are determined ahead of time, each youth will meet his/her small group on Thursday evening during opening worship.
God has called each one of us to "Go into all the world and make disciples." Sometimes, however, we just aren't sure how to do that. On Friday afternoon we will all have the opportunity to learn different ways God maybe calling us to minister in our own communities. Several mission opportunities will be available - some hands-on, some teaching-focused - but all are designed to prepare us to make an impact for the Kingdom of God once we leave The Gate.
There will be some organized free time on Saturday afternoon for games, inflatables, basketball competitions, or just hanging out. On Saturday afternoon the small groups will compete in the First Annual Gate Games competition. Events will challenge groups to work together as a team both physically and mentally. A good time will be had by all! There will be an opportunity during the Saturday morning session to anonymously submit questions to members of the Gate staff on the topics of faith, life, love, etc. A panel discussion answering these questions will take place Saturday afternoon.
Adult Ministry is designed for adults to be equipped to minister to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit, through authentic worship celebrations, powerful keynote speakers and over 30 dynamic workshop sessions. Bring your church staff, Bible study group, and Sunday school class. Lay leaders will walk away feeling empowered with new vision and training to grow your church. We want you to have a passion and vision beyond the walls of your own church to see every church proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel in the character and power of Jesus Christ. Get ready to be blessed by some of the best of the best in the United Methodist Church.
This year’s pre-conference experience will begin at 2 PM on Thursday, July 9. This completely free worship encounter for youth and adults will allow participants a chance to slow down, release burdens, and prepare their hearts for the Aldersgate conference beginning later that evening.
Get equipped to live a consistent Spirit-empowered life by participating in Aldersgate Workshop Sessions! 75 minute sessions are strategically designed to meet you where you are in your faith journey and to equip you to impact the lives of others.
Don’t miss this opportunity to receive a prophetic word. Testimony from last year: “Healed my heart and softened my spirit causing me to look at ministry and the church in a completely different way.” Over 160 personal ministry appointments will be available this year!
Lay Servant Credits
ARM is able to provide Lay Servants with a Certificate of Completion confirming their participation in ten hours of teaching at Aldersgate 2015. Four Equipping Sessions and 3 worship sessions will be chosen by the participant and must be indicated on the application available at registration. Lay Servants wishing to receive credits will need to take this certificate to their District Lay Servant representative to determine if they can receive credit in their Annual Conference. All certificates will be mailed or emailed out following the conference.
We welcome senior pastors, associate pastors, deacons, church staff members, youth pastors, missionaries, all kinds of clergy to Aldersgate 2015! If you come feeling empty we believe that the Holy Spirit will fill you up at the Aldersgate Conference. If you come wounded we believe the Holy Spirit wants to heal you at the conference. If you come already on fire for God we believe you will receive even more--more fire, more revelation, more power, and more impartation. You will hear great speakers in general sessions and workshop sessions. You may worship freely, without having any responsibilities during the worship times. You will have opportunities to receive prayer. This is an opportunity to take your ministry to a whole new level!
We have a special Clergy & Spouse Breakfast for you and your spouse (bring your spouse or a guest). This is a time to fellowship with other clergy families at the conference and to hear a presenter speak directly to clergy. (Tickets are required, please see the registration form)
If you come with children and youth, you will find the Gate Kids and Gate Youth programs at Aldersgate 2015 to be excellent and life changing. They are not times to just "occupy" the children and young people, they are real ministry times when your children and youth will be ministered to by an awesome staff.
Aldersgate Renewal Ministries offers Continuing Education Units for the Aldersgate conference. These sessions can be a valuable part of your ongoing plan for continuing education with your District Superintendent and Board of Ordained Ministry. Aldersgate Renewal Ministries has some limited scholarship funds and might help after other sources of funds have been used.
Pastors who host one of our team-led local church renewal events at their church receive a voucher for a free family registration to Aldersgate.
